in over 90 national publications including Parents Magazine,
Woman's Day, USA TODAY, and featured on CBS Morning News.
AirPacks,
Inc. and Jill Ammerman were featured in the March/April 2000
issue of Family Money Magazine in an article, "Got
An Idea: Turn It Into A Business."
The
New York Times (February 16, 2000) featured a long article
on "Stresses and Strains of Backpacks."
American
Academy of Orthopedics (October 14, 1999) released a report
"Heavy Backpacks Cause Back, Shoulder Pain in
Children."
"In
a recent survey the American Academy of Orthopedics, 71% felt
that backpacks are a clinical problem for children and 58% of
the doctors reporting seeing youngsters whose back and shoulder
pains could be attributed to carrying backpacks that were too
heavy for them."
American
Physical Therapy Association (August 4, 1999) released a report
"School's in Session, but is Your Children's Backpack
Making the Grade?"
The
American Physical Therapy Association released a report that
addresses the benefits and dangers of backpacks. The report
states, "While a backpack is still one of the best ways to
bear a burden, a too-heavy or improperly worn backpack may harm
joints and muscles, especially young ones."
